The above words are Timothy Luzzi’s. He, along with other recipients of Edison International's Teachers for Tomorrow Scholarship Program, has experienced - up close and personally - the benefit of Edison International's long-standing support of educational opportunities. Since 2000, when this program began, Edison has been able to place 135 new teachers into the classrooms of Southern California schools. Partnering with the California State University system, the scholarships target socially and economically disadvantaged Southern California students enrolled in eligible CSU schools of education. The result has been to help create a new generation of qualified and dedicated teachers, who themselves are rewarded.
For another recipient, Jennifer Chan, those powerful rewards include "...the smiles on my students' faces, feeling their accomplishments and becoming a role model in their lives."
