- Market Participant
- An entity that buys, sells and/or delivers electrical energy or services in the electrical energy marketplace.
- Market Power
- The ability to influence commodity pricing in a competitive market.
- Megawatt (MW)
- One million watts, or 1,000 kilowatts, which is enough energy to power about 750 to 1,000 average California homes at any given time. A megawatt is the basic unit for measuring power generation and is the billing unit for wholesale electricity.
- Mountainview
- The new 1,054-MW combined-cycle, natural gas-fired project SCE is building in Redlands. When it is completed, it will serve SCE’s customers in the Inland Empire, the fastest growing part of SCE's service territory.
